Post class- Blog

All semester long I have been blogging about what we have been doing in this class. The blogs have ranged from my thoughts on the week’s chapter reading, my feelings about creating something on a new/unfamiliar program, and my reflections on my final designs. I have enjoyed blogging throughout this class because it has allowed me to keep track of my thoughts along the way. Plus, it’s kind of funny now to look back at my first posts and to see how intimidated I was in the beginning as compared to now.

As the class is winding down and we are beginning to craft our final project, I am thinking about what I would like to do with this blog post-class. I think I would like to make this blog private, so for my viewing only in the future, and then I would like to take my portfolio work and create a new blog site to display my work. I think I need to make a new, more professional site with these PR Pubs pieces as well as some of my writing pieces and work from other classes. If I had a new online portfolio like the one I just mentioned, I would definitely show it off to future employers and other contacts. I think I would use it as a resource to present myself and to hopefully get a job. I could provide the link to the blog on my social media accounts, on my resume, and on my LinkedIn.

On the new blog I would like to include a “contact page,” an “about me” page, a resume page, a portfolio page, and a “thoughts page.” My thought page could be the space where I actually blog consistently, the content would be my thoughts and opinions of PR industry stuff, political stuff, and also just any things that I find neat or that I’m into in that moment.
