PR PUBLICATIONS: Analyzing your Organization
This week my public relations publications class is exploring how to design a business card and a letterhead. We are choosing an organization we prefer and design the letterhead and business card based off that. I chose the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino franchise. For this particular exercise we are assessing the state the company is in today.
From the time the first Hard Rock Café opened in England they aimed to treat each guest like they are a rock star that means the get to be a “VIP” and fun gets to be had by any kind of adult. The Hard Rock aims to please its guest by giving them a one of a kind experience that is fun and edgy while the service is still prompt and excellent.
The Hard Rock is unique in that its brand encompasses both a hotel/casino branch and a restaurant branch. I am choosing to focus solely on the hotel/casino branch. Therefore, the main competition that the Hard Rock faces is other hotels. Often Hard Rock locations can be found in hotel heavy areas. In Orlando, Florida it is part of the universal line up. It rivals other deluxe universal hotels such as: the Loews Royal Pacific Resort, the Loews Portofino Resort, and soon the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort. In addition, the resort must also compete with all the Disney and off site accommodations in the area. In an area like Las Vegas they compete with every other hotel on the strip, most famously: The Aria, the Bellagio, the MGM Grand, and Caesars Palace to name a few. Clearly the particular competition will vary depending upon the location. In short though they competition is always other hotels in the area.
Luckily, the Hard Rock brand has a reputation for being fun and cool. They offer a wide array of dining options all themed in a rock and roll variation. They truly value the legacy of music. Often showcasing rock and roll memorabilia, they offer guests rock and roll eye candy at every turn.
