PR Pubs: Newsletter Reflection

This week, I attempted a newsletter for Disney. I am not happy with the end product, as my hectic, jam-packed schedule did not leave enough time for me to truly dedicate as much attention and time as I would have ideally liked. My design came down to the last minute, so I am just not impressed with the plainness and missing elements that I would have liked to refine and complete.

“when will myyy newsletter shooow who I ammm insiiiiiiide?”

For a company like Disney, which I have been a huge fan of since I was very young, I was inspired to have a grand design that was fanciful, contrasting with dark backgrounds and bright, colorful accents to mimic the Disney World sky during the fireworks, and exciting.

I wanted my design to take the viewer back to that summer in 2002 when they went to Disney World, creating that sense of nostalgia. My target audience was fans who visit Disney if not every summer, then more regularly than not. Looking back, I believe I spent too much of my already extremely limited time in Photoshop attempting to cut out a vector of the Disney Castle and add a sparkly background to it- which I figured out how to do with the pattern section, after hours of tinkering around.
