PR WRITING: Chapter 14 response

This chapter focuses on how public relations can measure success after the fact,

Takeaway 1: the first thing that stood out to me in this chapter was a bullet point from the components of PR measurement section. It said to set specific, measurable goals. That was important to me because how can you measure success at all if there are no expectations.

Takeaway 2: The second most prevalent way you could measure how well a project is doing is awareness. I felt this was an important feature because if your project/campaign is reaching a sufficient amount of people and there are reactions that can be immensely successful. Especially in the world we live in, we rely on media and technology and it can catapult ideas like never before.

Takeaway 3: The last takeaway would be the action initiative objectives. It is clear that a campaign is a success if it asks and receives people taking action because of their campaign. These days it is hard to get people to do anything so it shows that a campaign has been successful when people are motivated to engage and take action.

This chapter made me think about success in a processional setting in a new way. It made me realize that it needs to be something that is anticipated and planned for.

This chapter will help with writing now and in the future because it can reinforce how the words you choose are important. They can make or break a campaign and have an immense impact on the way the public perceives the work and ultimately the success the campaign gains.
