PR WRITING: Internships
The two internships I decided to research was for the Disney College Program and Discovery Communications.
The Disney Company’s College Program is something that I have though about for a while. The program takes place during either spring, summer, or fall sessions. The program has many opportunities for people. A cast member could wok anywhere on their two reports either in Disney World and Disneyland. This opportunity is close to me and interesting to me because it is close to where I grew up in Miami FL. I grew up going to Disney World numerous times a year and grew up with the Disney spirit. To me, this would be the best way to learn how to ensure fantastic customer service,

The second opportunity I just happened upon and it surprised me. It is an opportunity with Discovery Communications, in other words The Discovery Channel and some sub departments under that umbrella. Some of those sub departments include TLC, OWN, and Animal Planet. This particular internship runs from June 1 to August 19. It is also in Miami which clearly appeals to my homesick self. However, the job descriptions include drafting press releases, creating media lists, media monitoring, crafting and editing press clips, and managing special events. This internship sounds really fun and enlightening.
