“your first tip is to avoid procrastination”

So now that you know what procrastination is, let me put it into practical terms for you. Forgetting to take pictures for your design blitz assignment. I knew instantly that minimalism and the use of space is what I wanted to capture. To me it is the design element that is most often overlooked. In a world that likes a lot sometimes a little is what catches the eye. I began to look through some of the pictures I have taken recently to see if any could capture this minimalist concept. Here is what I found.

This is a book my friend got me for Christmas. Not only is this my favorite quote in the book, but it perfectly displays minimalism. The words don’t have to fill up the entire page and have more of an impact because they are placed at the bottom.

This is more use of space than it is minimalism, but both are present to me. Nothing is centered and while there is a lot going on it is still minimal because it captures what is occurring without faces.

This is one of my favorite design elements in my room. I love the contrast of the feminine flowers with the wooden stumps. The minimalism comes in because other than my lamp this is all that is on my bedside table. Again, less is more.

So this is a poor picture, but is the biggest representation of minimalism in my life. Every other day someone walks in my room and says, “are you going to put anything in those frames?” The answer is no, I am using my space in a minimalist way.
