Professional Portrait

I’m Lydia Farve and am a junior public relations major and international and area studies minor at the University of Oklahoma. I’m from Tulsa, Oklahoma, which is my favorite city in the world, even after having visited some of the world’s best travel destinations. I work for KIND Snacks as a University Ambassador, where I help raise brand recognition through events on campus and sampling students. I love to travel, try new things, drink coffee, and be around people. This summer I was lucky enough to go on Gaylord’s British Media Studies class where we traveled to the U.K and France. Also, I am planning on returning to the U.K. for a semester starting in January.

My family is one of my most significant motivators in two ways. I think my family has all led successful lives and watching them succeed at their goals motivates me to keep up with mine. Secondly, they are very encouraging and always support me in my decisions, because they trust my goals and instincts.

I believe that experiences are one of the most important things in life. I hope to be able to experience many things, not only in my personal life, such as through travel, but in my career life. I’d like to try my hand at many different types of jobs to find one that I can really succeed at. I’d like to have a career in something creative, which is where design would come in. I have little design experience as of yet, but I hope to develop my skills through this class. When I graduate I hope to travel and land a job across the world.
