Professional Portrait (PR Publications)
My name is Sydney Ore and I am a senior at the University of Oklahoma. I believe that we are all given gifts from God that we can either allow to sit dormant inside of us, or that we can utilize and hone to become the people we are meant to be and achieve our dreams. I take a lot of guidance from the Bible and The Art of War by Sun Tsu. Apart from the obvious faith, lessons and inspiration that I take from the Bible, I also learn how to be a competitor in this increasingly dog-eat-dog world and how to win my battles from The Art of War. I believe it is very important to fill yourself a mental “survivalist bag” full of important lessons and tips that will help you be a better you and how to get what you want.
I am very motivated by my drive to succeed and my passion for setting goals and then attempting to reach them. Instead of counting our lives in years lived, I believe it’s more productive and eye-opening to count our lives in goals accomplished and tasks done. The more I look back on my life, the more I am dissatisfied and the more I want to achieve in the future. I have so many goals for myself right now, short term and long term, and I find great satisfaction in the pursuit of these goals.
Right now, I am an intern for the OKC Thunder as an Events Associate, but I also have other hobbies on the side such as horseback riding, tennis, golf, drawing and event planning. Design has always fit into my life because I adore art and as mentioned before, planning events. When I helped plan my sister’s wedding, we had to choose color schemes, table placement, center pieces, etc. and it all had to follow the time-honored tradition of form AND function. Now that I’m in Public Relations, and sports specifically, design is incredibly important as there are certain symbols and color schemes we must portray in the events that we plan.
I chose this picture to add into my first blog post because it brings back so many fond memories of the time I went to Washington D.C. with my very best friend for the 4th of July. Of course, I HAD to go to a Nats game while we were there. I am a huge Angels fan, but I have a personal goal to visit all of the major league baseball stadiums in the U.S.
