Professional Portrait

Hello! My name is Julia Bauer, and I am originally from Houston, Texas. I am currently studying Public Relations at The University of Oklahoma, and I could not be happier with my decision. I chose to study PR because I have a passion for working with others and being creative. I want to help individuals and companies put their best face forward in all situations, and to help them grow their name in the world. I am a proud OU student, and enjoy spending my saturdays in the fall cheering on our football team.

As I continue to study in the OU Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communications, I look forward to learning from my professors and gaining experience in the public relations industry. I am currently the Social Media Director for The Odyssey at OU, a national publication with locations at numerous college campuses across the country. I also recently began a marketing internship with Box Talent Agency, an entertainment booking company, where I will help to promote both Box Talent and its clients through social media. One area that I hope to improve on this semester is design. Knowing how to create different types of publications will be very helpful in advancing my skills to succeed in the industry.

Outside of school and internships, I like to travel and explore new cities, meeting new people along the way. I have learned so much about different cultures and societies around the world from my travels, and I believe it has helped to shape me into the person I am today. I enjoy spending my time helping others, such as through raising money for charities and building houses in Nicaragua. My parents have always encouraged me to do my best and be myself, and I truly believe that they have helped to instill the drive in me that I have to succeed in every aspect of my life.
