This week in our PR Pubs course we were asked to design our final draft of our business cards and letterheads. We were asked to incorporate the feedback that other students provided as well as put our finishing touches on the design.

I was very nervous at the beginning of the week thinking that we were going to be turning in our final design in just a few short days. I mean how is it possible that we are already so far into this course? So this week, I looked at my designs with a critical eye and thought how could this be better? What would make this more appealing?

I realized that my business card was to busy on the front. I needed to take away some of the overwhelming parts, such as four images, and replace them with smaller icons. I in turn put the images on the back of the business card so that I could still incorporate the personality of the organization. On my letterhead, I didn’t want it to look like a boring press release, so I moved around the information and made the design more asymmetrical.

I am so pleased with my final designs. I did not imagine that I would really like my designs as much as I do, because I typically do not think of myself as a creative person. I just think I was able to balance the images and text and keep the important information while adding fun details. I am so excited to have my first completed design project finished. I feel very comfortable with indesign now.  Refelction
