Reflecting on Hard Work

Reflecting on Hard WorkThese past couple weeks for my Public Relations Publications class we were asked to make a business card and a letter head for a company of choice. When we were first assigned this project I was extremely hesitant about how well I would do using InDesign. When I first started this project I was not sure if I was going to be successful and make something that I was proud of. I had little confidence in my ability to produce a business card and letterhead that I was proud of or that I felt accurately represented the company I had chosen.

After creating the first draft of my letterhead and business card I was actually shocked at my abilities using InDesign. I was pretty proud of my simple and clean products that I had produced. I was also shocked that I did not lose my mind trying to use InDesign. I definitely thought I would have a few words with the program, but once I got the hang of it my products turned out pretty well.Reflecting on Hard Work

I really enjoyed getting feedback from my peers on my work. It helped me to see things about my business card that I would not have seen before. The comments actually sparked my interest in changing the back of my business card a little bit from my first draft. I also really liked getting the time to look at my peers business cards and letterheads. I definitely was inspired by some of the products that they had produced and was extremely impressed with everyones abilities using InDesign.

I think that I was much happier with my final product than I ever thought I would be. If I was hired as a full time employee at All Sports I think that for my personal business cards I would use the one that I made because I am so proud of it. I find myself feeling more confident each time I use InDesign than I was the time before. My confidence in my abilities to do something on a computer other than write a paper in word is building. I am beyond proud of myself for not losing my patience. I think if a future student were to ask my advice I would definitely say try and don’t get down on yourself because self doubt will be the death of your confidence in the product you create. I think that if your happy with your work to that speaks volumes about the product. If you a proud of what you made and feel confident others will be impressed to and your work will show your pride.

This project has made me excited for what is to come in the course and what else I am going to learn to make on InDesign and Photoshop. I am so eager to learn more, which is something I did not see myself saying!
