Reflection
The week of July 13-17 2015 in my Public Relations Publications class was pretty useful to the improvement of my design skills and knowledge. We were asked to create a business card and letterhead and then make corrections to them based on feedback that we received from Adam and our classmates. We also were asked to give feedback to other students which gave us the opportunity to learn from others.
I responded to creating, correcting and commenting on this project in a humble way. I truly just wanted to learn and soak in as much as I could from all of the Lynda videos and feedback from Adam. The best way that I learn is to have a hands on approach and get feedback of my work, so I think that I made strides this week.
My first letterhead and business card were not as perfect as I thought they were when I first created them. The good thing about making mistakes is that you learn from them and you can correct them easily. Simple things such as alignment, spacing and font size are things that the regular individual wouldn’t notice but a design student should always be cognizant of. My “final”l products are much better than my first two after receiving feedback from Adam and peers.
In conclusion, I think that I would pitch my business card and letter head to Nike because I feel like I already share the same mindset as the individuals who currently work there. They are focused on making things as modern as possible as long as they are benefiting customers, organizations and the environment.
