Reflection

Reflection on the week

This week we were asked to work on direct mailers more. I felt pretty confident in my work after participating in the google hang out. I was pretty nervous at first, I felt like my designs were pretty plain jane. The supporting of my peers definitely made me feel better about my designs.

I think that my designs now are good and they get the point across. I think my reaction to my work changed because of the positive feedback and support that I received.

I LOVE photoshop. It is my go to software. I prefer it over ID, honestly. I don’t know why I like photoshop more than ID, probably because I just know how to use it better than ID. I feel like I have more control over photoshop documents.

Designing for Emotion

I liked in the reading where it asked “If your website were a person, who would it be?”  I image my person being in a website as being fun and vibrant, and also full of things to make others feel good and empowered. I can see bright colors being used and would feel very warm and fuzzy. I like the online portfolio example on page 43 of the text.

I agree with a lot of the book, I think that it hits personality dead on. Especially when it talks about how our personalities shift with the context of communication in real life. I think that if we stopped thinking about interfaces as “dumb computer stuff” and as a way to engage with multiple audiences, we would achieve so much more. I love the personality chapter of this book!
