Reflection

When I first started working with photoshop, I thought that it was much simpler than InDesign, but the more I began to work with it, the more I struggled. I really enjoyed creating these direct mailers but I struggled because my personal computer would not allow me to use the mini bridge so I had to go to campus to complete my project which was kind of inconvenient. I am not sure why my computer wouldn’t download this aspect but something was off about it.

I enjoyed being able to design direct mailers that would potentially go out to potential students and alumni of Gaylord College. I found the student mailer to be easier than the alumni one because it was more direct and I was focusing on all of the opportunities that they would have if they did decide to attend OU and be apart of the Gaylord College. For the alumni mailer, I tried to focus on what Gaylord was known for now and any changes that may have been made since they graduated. This got kind of hard because depending on when someone graduated, there have been few or many changes made. This one I feel like was not as appealing to the eye also.

I enjoyed this assignment but struggled with having to work on it at campus because I have a job and an internship that I am working so working around library hours was difficult for me. I think that with more work in photoshop, I will become more accustomed to how it works and hopefully I will be able to work with it on my own computer so that I do not have to go elsewhere to work on projects.

I am a perfectionist and being unable to correctly depict my ideas for the direct mailers, was kind of frustrating for me. I had to post some images through ways that I found on google and the resolution did not end up very big and I could not figure out how to make my images larger without distorting the image. I tried to watch some of the Lynda videos but they all seemed to focus on other things. I hope that I can keep working with this program to improve for future work.
