Reflection

This week we were asked to create a business card for the company we have been researching, analyzing, and building a communication strategy for. I was excited for this assignment because KIND Snacks is a company I am really passionate about working for. Also, I have been needing to get a business card so this is assignment is actually very helpful.

Here is my first draft of the front and back:

As you can see, I left the background white. I would’ve preferred to have it black, but with the logo having black writing, I didn’t know how it would be possible.

Starting out creating my business card was pretty intimidating. When you’re looking at a blank canvas, it’s hard to know where to start. But once I put my logo in and went back to my communication strategy, I realized how beneficial that tedious part of this assignment was.

I am not totally satisfied with my first draft, so I’m pleased that we’ll still be working on it because this is definitely not what I’d liked to see as my final product. I initially thought creating something as simple as a business card would be a breeze in InDesign. But I would’ve liked to add a few more things to this design but I wasn’t sure what else to add. It is a business card after all and doesn’t need to be too cluttered. I still, however, thing this design might be a little too simple.

I’m looking forward to working more on my business card as I get used to using InDesign.
