Reflection
Finished Project
Back
Through out the last couple of weeks, I have been updating you with my process in creating a newsletter and a business card.
If you go back to previous posts, you will realize that I started by choosing an organization I felt a connections to. For me, this organization was the international literature magazine, World Literature Today (WLT). I am a current public relations intern at WLT.
I am the type of person who second glances at anything having to do with world culture and traveling. I wanted to emphasize the element of being “international” in my designs. To accomplish my goal, I picked an outline of the world to be the essential element of interest for both.
Going through the process step by step gave me time to look at my design more carefully. The research aspect of it gave me a clear picture of what I wanted. It is easy to have a thousand ideas and go away from your objective if there are no clear goals.
Though out my project, I always looked for ways where simplicity would rule. If I could restart my project, I would find a more creative but simple way to place my contact information on the back.
If you are a student or any professional for that matter looking to design your own business card or letterhead, remember that having a focus point and a big idea driven design will keep you on the right path.
As for my finished project, I think it looks good for a client review. I plan to pitch my idea to WLT. I think it would be great to see my idea come to life.
