Reflection

This project was much harder for me than the previous assignments. I think that the complexity of photoshop contributed a lot to my frustration as I was creating my direct mailers.

My stakeholders contributed a lot to my design because of course, I wanted to create something that would reach my specific target. For my first direct mailer that focused on a female high school student, I made sure to fill the white space of the mailer with language that would appeal to the student, like “goals, academia, friends” etc. I did the same with the other direct mailer, however with that direct mailer I chose to reach out to the stakeholder through the copy, rather than just the design because I chose an older stakeholder.

My first stakeholder helped me choose my second stakeholder because I wanted to go in a different direction. My two stakeholders are not related in any way, and I sort of did that as a challenge to myself for reaching out to a variety of targets.

As far as similarities and differences go in InDesign and Photoshop, I definitely prefer InDesign over photoshop. For me, a person who is not a designer and not creative, I definitely work better with simpler programs and concepts, and I can definitely find that in InDesign.
