Reflection
For the past 3 weeks I have been designing two direct mail pieces for OU Recruitment Services. After graduation I hope to attend OU College of Law, so I chose to design my direct mailers for the law college.
My first direct mailer piece was designed for undergraduate seniors interested in attending a law school that offers a balance between a quality education at an affordable cost. My second direct mailer piece was designed for current students of OU College of Law, who would be interested in participating in a study abroad program. I really enjoyed working on this project because the in-depth research to target stakeholders gave me more of an insight to what I am personally looking for in my next step after graduation.
Although, I found Photoshop to be difficult to work with at times, by the time I was ready to export my designs I felt more confident with the tools I was being asked to used. After working with InDesign, I prefer it over Photoshop when it comes to designing documents. I noticed Photoshop is easier to manipulate the color, sizing and layout of photos, whereas InDesign is more layout friendly. If I were to start over I would experiment further with the tools in Photoshop to add more character and effect to my text, shapes and color.
Until next time Photoshop. Here’s to the next lesson to come in my PR Publications class!
