Reflection

This project, we were asked to come up with two different stakeholders and analyze them and their interests. Next we were to design a direct mailer for each stakeholder. I chose my stakeholders as students who have been accepted to OU and are highly involved in high school activities. My second stakeholder is those student’s parents.

I am happy with the way my design turned out. At first I was nervous because I did not know what a compelling direct mailer included, but after some research I figured out which look I was drawn to. I wanted to incorporate captivating images, specifically of groups of people. Ultimately, I found photoshop to be very user-friendly. It was easy to create layers and that made it easy to just delete or change on part of the design without having to work with any of the other images or text. I was really happy upon completion of this project, not because I was that excited about a direct mailer, but because I am getting very comfortable with graphic design now and I am starting to think of the possibilities that are available with these programs.

The only thing that I would change already about my design would be to make it into a postcard. I had not even thought of making it a postcard until I looked at other student’s designs.
