Reflection

This week in my PR Pubs class we were asked to pick an organization that we like and design a series of promotional social media items for them. I choose my sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, because they are always looking for new things to promote our philanthropy with. Our philanthropy is Strike Out Arthritis, which is a campus wide sports game. My chapter does baseball, however the sport is picked by the chapter so it varies at each university.

This assignment wanted us to use the online site CANVA to create the social media pieces. I really enjoyed using Canva. I have used it before, but watching the tutorial helped me find out things about the site that I didn’t already know! Did you know that you can make a photo transparent to make words stand out??? Well neither did I, until now!

My overall concept was to incorporate similar concept into each design. For this I went with the colors from the logo, pink, red and navy. I carried this color scheme across all social media pieces. I also tries to work in the chalk lettering into each social media piece as well. The logo was very self explanatory so I only used it on one design, however I did carry the elements listed above from the logo into each design. I really hope you enjoy my social media pieces!
