Reflection 2.2

For this assignment I was asked to provide feedback on some of my classmates, to start my letterhead, and to start a direct correspondence with one of my classmates through a comment on their blog. I think that analyzing what my classmates have done with their business cards has helped me to come up with some new ideas for my own business card. Also seeing all of the criteria and how to analyze my card has helped. I think that once I receive feedback from classmates I will know where to go with my card.

It was easy for me to critique what my classmates have done so far because I have an idea of what I want my own card to be so I kind of used my own ideas to see how they have and have not met that criteria. The InDesign projects are still kind of hard for me because I am not yet very familiar with the software.

I am hoping that my classmates are not offended by the suggestions and critique that I have provided them. I understand that constructive criticism helps us to grow and improve on ourselves so I definitely think that I will respond well when I get feedback on my own work. It is just my hope that my suggestions are taken to heart and my classmates can use what I have provided them to make their cards the best that they can. I am still a little shaky with InDesign so my letterhead needs quite a bit of work. I am hoping that before this draft is due I can get the hang of it. I really want my first draft of this to be better than the first draft I created of my business card.

As I have mentioned in previous posts, I am a perfectionist which is why I am comfortable giving others feedback. I understand that some classmates may not view things the way that I do but I want them to have new ideas and possibilities that they may not have thought of themselves. My worrying about how they will react to my feedback is because sometimes it is hard for me to listen to the ideas of others so I know that some of my classmates may struggle with this as well.
