Reflection

This week in my Public Relations Publications class, we were assigned to create a letterhead for our specific organization. Here is my first draft and following is my reflection on the assignment:

1. What were you asked to do?

We were asked to make changes to our business cards and start designing a paired letterhead. We were told that the letterhead should have a very similar look and feel to the brand design we created for the business card.

2. How did you respond to what you were asked to do?

I was a little nervous, but also excited to start creating a more overall brand for my organization. The past few weeks have been a little overwhelming with coming up with creative ideas and knowing how to organize them on InDesign. When asked to come up with a letterhead, I wanted to use the original logo I had used with my business card. With the rest of the business card, I decided to do a little more research to help me come up with a better overall design.

3. How did react to what you actually did?

After creating a first draft letterhead, I am not 100% happy with it, but that’s why it is called a first draft right? Looking forward to receiving feedback and making changes.

4. Now go one level deeper: Why do you think your reaction was what it was?

I think I reacted this way because designing these things is a completely new concept to me. InDesign is a great program to work with, but also very foreign to me and I am still learning!
