REFLECTION

Above is a Screenshot of my PR Publications final video project.(Unfortunately the actual video was too large to post on my blog, therefore I have submitted a copy to D2L).

For my “Summary of Learning” project I stuck with my original idea by creating an informational video. At first, I wanted my video to focus more on the content of our PR Publications class. After I sat down and started working on my project, I wanted it to inspire/challenge students to take this course. My video turned into an “advertisement” campaign for PR Publications.

I am very thrilled with my final project because I touched on almost every part of the semester. In my video, I included examples of my work, Professor Croom and Gaylord College. My video has intense background music in order to get the viewer pumped up about taking this course.

I made my video “a challenge” because I wanted students to come in knowing that this isn’t going to be a slack-off class. I wanted to show that it takes hard work and effort in order to get through this class and to become a good web designer.

In order to make this video possible, I used my video camera, Imovie software and my laptop for editing. I added music from Itunes and screenshotted photos of my work throughout the semester.

Overall, I am very happy with my final project as well as the rest of my work from this course. I came into PR Publications without knowing a single thing about Photoshop or InDesign. After finishing this course, I feel confident to use both of these tools in the future.

In addition, I had so much fun making my final project! I realized that I love creating videos and editing content. After looking back at my past projects, I saw how much I grew as a web designer.

I am sad to see this course end. I loved getting to be creative and putting a personal touch on all my projects. I was a little nervous about taking this class online at first, but it ended up being very helpful and time convenient for me! I am very excited to see where my new web design skills and passions lead me in the near future.
