Reflection
This week, I was asked to watch a couple hours worth of videos on tutorials for learning Photoshop and InDesign. In class, we went over how to use these programs and had different assignments and activities that helped us build our knowledge and skills over these programs.
With being asked to do these things, naturally, I was hesitant. I have never really used these programs and I was nervous about getting adjusted to them. However, I knew that I had to do it (it’s for a grade, right?) so I did it.
My reaction to what I actually did was different than I expected. I thought it was going to be terrible and I would get frustrated and lost and my outcome would be terrible. However, it really didn’t go that bad. I adjusted myself to the programs and slowly, but surely learned. With the help of tutorials and looking things up on the internet, I was able to learn and be self-sufficient, and my typesetting assignment actually turned out great!
I think my reaction was this way because I surprised myself. I literally thought I was going to struggle with learning this, but I ended up proving myself wrong. When you have to learn something new, proving yourself wrong after telling yourself that you couldn’t do something is one of the best feelings.
