Reflection

For the final task this week we were asked to go ahead and take all of our research, ideas, and planning and turn it into a business card draft on InDesign. I was excited to start putting the business card together because we finally got to use all the things we learned and watched last week in our boot camp tutorials.

Starting out was kind’ve scary, I felt like I needed some guidance because the white space of my document could turn into so many things, and I was the only one in control of what it would actually turn into. I got a little frustrated at some points because the space on the card is only about 3″ by 2″ and it was easy to click on the wrong thing and mess up my design. I wish I would have had more time today to add in some color and graphic design.

For now, I created just a very simply card with clean lines and two types of text. I added the dots as another design element for now, but may take them off once I add in the floral design that I want. It is pretty plain right now but I think it conveys the general messages that I wanted it to.

My first try at the new Thorn Originals business cards:
