Reflection

Last week we were asked to pick a company and design a business card for them, while this week were we asked to create a letterhead for that same company that was similar to the business card as well.

I was excited to create a letterhead because I have never done any work with a letterhead and was curious to how designing it works. This task took me less time than the business card however I did find it a little bit more frustrating. It was hard for me to make this simplistic while being creative. I still have not mastered the art of design, but I have full faith that as I continue to design I will eventually get the hang of it.

I’m pretty pleased with the way my letterhead turned out. I’m not in love with the font I chose. I want to find one that is similar to the kind hotels.com uses but overall I thought it was an okay rough draft. I don’t think I quite have the image of what I want in my head yet, so I still need to continue to play around with stuff.

 

Although I didn’t use Canva for this project, I think I will definitely use it in the future. It is such a cool website that gives you so many different layout to chose from and help spark your creativity. It’s great for basic design! I found with the website though, if you want to use your own design, you have to edit the ones they give to you which could take some time. Looking through all the pre made designs on Canva, I feel like it did change my design thinking process because I could simply pick one of the layouts and not have to put my creative thinking cap on. I think it is a great website for quick designs and would highly recommend it.
