Reflection

In my public relations publication class we were asked to design two direct mailers for two stakeholders of our choice. I was a little worried going into this project because it is hard to identify a stakeholder and then have to design a direct mailer that would benefit them without losing touch of the university.

With my first draft I wasn’t very impressed, simply because I felt like I couldn’t get my idea to translate onto photoshop. I wasn’t a fan but I also didn’t know how to improve it. After my final draft i was very happy with my end result, I think I was able to fully create the idea I had in my head.

I think I was disappointed at first because I didn’t know how to improve my design. But once i was finished I realized that I could actually work photoshop and get the idea I wanted across. I definitely do feel more confident using photoshop but no as much as InDesign! InDesign I feel like is simpler and Photoshop uses layers that can make it more confusing. Although I defintely to think that with practice, photoshop would be the better tool in the long run.

I feel like I basically did start over with my second draft because it was completely different than the first. I think I would go back and watch more videos on Photoshop so I could d everything more smoothly.
