Reflection
The past 2 weeks in PR Publications we were asked to make a newsletter for a Fortune 500 company. I chose Apple because I like how Apple is very modern, clean, simplistic, and pleasing to the eye. I also have Apple products so I familiar with them and their brand.
At first, this project seemed like a piece of cake because I <3 InDesign. But when I opened InDesign its like I forgot how to do everything!!! If you don’t practice everyday you very quickly forget. It was NOT like riding a bike. Well kinda once I got myself into it but jeez this project was extremely time consuming and very detail orientated. You have to be a perfectionist working on this project because thats the only way it’ll actually look good!
I think my newsletter turned out pretty good. It lacks some color but I wasn’t sure how to add in color especially since Apple uses a lot of black and white. I like my layout and design. It’s basic and works. Finding ways to be creative but also meet the basic design principles can be challenging.
After it was all said and done I appreciated it a lot more because I put a lengthy amount of time and effort into this project. I also feel like I can use these skills in my internship this summer which ROCKS because I just found out one of my responsibilities will be drafting Newsletters. Score!
