Reflection
- We were asked to create a newsletter for a fortune 500 company. A newsletter that would represent the company, have actual important content, creative, yet professional.
- I though it was a great opportunity to create a project like this, because as a public relations major, this would be one of our actual tasks in a real agency or company.
- At first I thought it was going to be a project that would neither be easy not hard. But as I got to do it I noticed that it was going to take a lot of work. The good news was that because we had done other project using InDesign the tools were much easier to use, because I was now familiar with them. But this project took the most time out of all of them.
- It was not an easy project, because this time we had to actually include real content instead of using the fillers. Also it was hard creating a newsletter that was professional, but at the same time creative and not boring. It was very hard finding things to ad to each of the pages to make them entertaining.
- The target public for the company “Macy’s” was mainly women. Even though Macy’s is one of the biggest retailers and it sells cloths and accessories for men as well, in my opinion and also as I researched more about the company I realized that it indeed targeted women more than man. So I wanted to create a newsletter that was kind on neutral, but at the same time with a touch of femininity. Also, since Macy’s is high-end retailer I also wanted to create a newsletter design that was elegant and clean.
