Reflection
This week in my PR Publications class I was asked to create a Stakeholder Segmentation Matrix and then design a direct mailer for OU Recruitment Services targeted at my stakeholder.
I had never completed a Stakeholder Segmentation Matrix before, and I was initially very confused about what I was being asked to do. I decided to simply give it a shot and asked my professor for help and revisions. Once I finished, I felt like I had a better grasp on the stakeholder I was targeting my direct mailer too. This was helpful in the design process! I understand how this process is important and beneficial to PR practitioners.
When I opened PhotoShop to begin creating my direct mailer I was immediately overwhelmed, realizing I didn’t quite remember how to do anything. It was definitely intimidating! Once I got started, I referenced the internet multiple times while trying to remember how to do certain things. I experimented a lot and messed up a lot. My end result presents the message that I want it to, but I know that it could be cleaner, more impressive, and more creative. I’ll be able to improve my work as I continue to develop my ideas and figure out how to implement them.
