Reflection
What were you asked to do?
I was asked to complete a segmented matrix based on what I identified my stakeholder to be. I chose North American females that have been accepted to OU, ages 17 to 20.
How did you respond to what you were asked to do?
The segmented matrix was really confusing to me and I am still not sure I did it right, but what I did do really helped me see the angle in which I needed to take my mailer. It was really helpful to define every aspect of their life. The mailer was the most frustrating for me design wise so far. I have never started with something and ended with something so completely different. However, at the end of the day I feel like what I created caters to my stakeholder.
How did react to what you actually did?
I think my matrix defines my stakeholder well. I think my mailer is clean and simple, but shouldn’t be printed by the university any time soon. The colors show up really weird on my blog, I promise I would not have chosen lime green. Lime green definitely doesn’t line up with the wants and needs of my stakeholders.
Now go one level deeper: Why do you think your reaction was what it was?
I think I never believe my work is good enough. I think that has two facets to it: I am never satisfied and I am not a professional but know what professional work looks like. I enjoy the process of designing though because I get excited when I learn new things.
