Reflection

This past week in my PR Pubs class we were asked to finalize our direct mailers. It was a fun assignment, but it definitely was challenging. I think I responded well to the task. I feel like my design is simple and clean, but has depth. I wanted to create a piece that the University might actually use. I was very happy with my finished products. I think that I did a great job at creating a well-done direct mailer. I believe that I felt this way, because I spent a lot of time playing around with photoshop to create something that I am proud of. I realize that my piece is professional grade, but I think it is a great start. I am still learning how to use photoshop, so for now I am pleased with what I was able to create.

I do feel more confident about my skills in photoshop after this assignment. It was challenging, but I did improve through having to learn how to do certain aspects of the program. A lot of times it was difficult using photoshop to create the vision that I had in my head. I can see what I want, but I can’t quite make it yet.

I believe there are a few differences between photoshop and indesign. The main differences is that photoshop is just for single photos and InDesign is for bigger projects. I personally prefer InDesign. I feel like I have a better grasp on InDesign. It has come easier to me to do. Perhaps because we have had more practice, but I enjoy using it more than photoshop.

If I were to start over, I would probably diversify my pictures more. I think they are both kind of similar and my phrases are pretty similar too. I think that I would have changed those things, but other than that I think that I did a pretty good job.

It was a great assignment that taught me a lot about trial and error in photoshop.
