Reflection
Ah, reflection. I always told myself I would be reflecting earlier on my projects after Soonerthon so that maybe it would spark some great thought and I could make some final changes to my project. Of course that is never the case, you always say “I’ll be less busy after…” and the after never comes. Nevertheless, I am really enjoying working in Photoshop.
1. What were you asked to do? I was asked to create two director mailers targeted at prospective students and then a secondary audience.
2. How did you respond to what you were asked to do? I responded by addressing the benefits of joining a Greek organization.
3. How did react to what you actually did? I liked my work! My first one is stronger than my second in my opinion, but it is also just more my taste because I was appealing to someone my age.
4. Now go one level deeper: Why do you think your reaction was what it was? I think I am happy with my projects because I spent more time on them then I typically do. I loved the premise behind the project.
Supplemental questions:
- Do you or do you not feel yourself becoming more confident with the tools you are being asked to used? I do feel more confident in Photoshop but still don’t feel like I know enough to create the designs that are in my head.
- What are some differences you found between Photoshop and InDesign? Do you feel like you prefer either one? Photoshop just makes so much more sense to me. Everything feels less hidden so I prefer PS.
- Is there anything you would do differently if you were to start over? I think that I would find a way to appeal to an older audience that is a little less simplistic for my second mailer.
