Reflection

This week in PR Pubs we are back to InDesign. Our assignment is to create a newsletter for a Fortune 500 company of our choice. I chose Nordstrom. This week was dedicated to create a newsletter dummy on InDesign and starting to gather pictures and articles to use. I had difficulty with creating a dummy design. I think it will be easier once I started adding my images and articles. I think certain articles and images needs to be laid out a certain way and I am not sure yet considering I don’t have them places out yet. My dummy design looks pretty dumb. I need to start thinking about my design aspect and how I can arrange my newsletter to fit the company’s image. I also want to articles and images to flow in a way that makes sense to the reader. I also need to start thinking about font. I really want to stick with the company’s minimalistic simple design/brand principles. I think its nice and clean looking and will look good for a newsletter.

The beginning stages are always hard for me because I lack focus. I am not sure where I want my design to go and struggle with starting to get it looking how I want. I am glad I already have found some good articles and images to use. My main focus now is to get a design idea down and to start making it look how I want.
