Reflection
WOW!
This week was difficult to say the least. I must have watched and re-watched over 4 hours of Lynda.com videos. For the assignments this week I had to tear apart a newspaper and markup the names of what each section was called. After completing the “mini assignment,” I had to take my first go at Indesign. Let’s just say I will sleep good tonight!
In all seriousness, it was actually fun to take a go at this huge design platform. I learned things that I have wanted to know for a long time so I feel very accomplished in that.
I was surprised at how accessible all of the buttons were on the indesign template, and watching the teachers example video really helped. Of course I was not super happy with my end product, I really wanted it to sparkle and have a piece of me in it, but I will have to settle for now in these “learning stages.”
As this class progresses, in these beginning assignments I really have to get over my perfectionist tendencies and just soak up all of this knowledge like a sponge. After learning a decent amount I am sure my expectations will rise for myself. I look forward to challenging myself over the next few weeks, and essentially for the rest of my career.
