Reflection

This was the BIG assignment for the week.  WOW what an adventure it is to play around with Indesign.  For the assignment, I was asked to research an organization and then create a business card for them.  I ended up choosing APRL, an animal protection organization that is trying to end Animal Cruelty by educating and acting on what they believe is right.  It has taken me hours to complete but I feel good about my first business card submission.

When I first looked at the assignment, I must say I was feeling maybe a little over confident, because I had watched so many videos.  Let’s just say a video has nothing on doing something when you have no idea what buttons do what.

When I first came in contact with Indesign on a blank format, I can honestly say I stared at a blank canvas for about an hour trying to really grasp how to do the assignment.  After watching, and re-watching tutorials, I was finally able to get to work.  My end result turned out to be pretty good (so I think)!

I would assume my reaction was confidence at first because I consider myself a quick learner.  I watched every single tutorial assigned to the class, plus additional ones.  I think my head was a little inflated by all of the “you can do it” phrases at the end of each video.  After grasping reality, I think it’s safe to say I hit a mental block, but I was able to calm myself down and complete the assignment.  I hope you enjoy and give me feedback, any and all comments are welcome!
