Reflection-Action Plan for Domain

It has always been a dream of mine to have my own website. Did I have any clue what I would put on it? No. When I was younger the idea of having my own website was fascinating, I have carried that fascination with me to college. However, unlike when I was younger I have a plan for what I want my website to become.

After PR Pubs I want this website to serve as my virtual portfolio. Throughout my public relations classes my teachers have taught us the importance of having a portfolio of work to show potential employers. I like my physical portfolio, but its not easy to leave with them if they want to look at it more. The benefit of having an online portfolio, is that employers can look at it before and after the interview without being constricted to a time limit. I think it is important for employers to get to see examples of print, written and social media work, so they can make a more informed decision about the person they are hiring.

At first I had considered wiping the entire website, but I think it is interesting to see how I have grown throughout my class. I will keep most of my blog posts (the designing for emotion will probably go) so that an employer can see my growth and my personal blogging style.

I will definitely be adding more to my about me page (basically creating a written elevator speech), so that an employer can have a quick refresher after my interview. On this page I will also add my contact information, so that if someone needs to reach me my information is easily found.

I really enjoyed making a website and I am excited to see all of the different things I can utilize it for! Who knows maybe I will become a professional blogger!
