Reflection: Action Plan
It’s me again
Going into PR Pubs, I was a healthy mix of nervous and excited. Nervous because well, it’s a class for my major and I wanted it go smoothly and excited because like I have said before, I’ve always wanted to learn InDesign as well as other softwares for design.
At first, when I heard we would be blogging throughout the semester I thought to myself, “BLOGGING? 1. What am I even going to say that’s worthy of a blog? 2. Who has time for blogging? 3. Help” and surprisingly, this has been a highlight of my semester. I have learned more about myself than I imaged, and it definitely allows me to debrief after spending so much time on projects.
Post PR Pubs (tears), this domain is something I will be able to utilize when looking for jobs. I don’t know how I COULDN’T show this blog to a future employer? I mean just look at all of the work we accomplished this semester. Not only will these designs go into a professional portfolio, they’ll actually be used in real life. Or shall I say, have already been used?! Check this out:
As far as continuing the blogging reflection process for other courses or internships, I’m not sure if my schedule next semester will easily allow me to do so. You see, I will be drowning in Finance for my Business minor (lol SOS) and I gotta knock out some upper division Western Civs so I will attempt to implement them into my blog, but I hope my blog doesn’t feel abandoned and lonely if I don’t. I might almost leave the blog the way it is, not wiping it clean or changing it, but just leaving it. Sort of like my PR Pubs trophy. I would prefer to keep it strictly publications and I think it would be best to leave it as it is. I really enjoy WordPress and I might consider moving my favorite designs to an official website in a little while to create a different online portfolio.
As far as the “About” and “Contact Me” pages, well yes I will be needed to fill those out because I wasn’t really aware of their existence but no worries I can work on that!!
