Reflection – Business Card Draft

In my PR Publications class, we have started creating business cards for the organizations that we chose. For me, I have decided to create a business card for Lindsey + Asp. They are an advertising and public relations agency that does work for a variety of clients. In this blog post, I will communicate how I felt about the task and how well I felt I could perform.

For this assignment, we were asked to create business cards for the organization of our choice. We were asked to create a business card on InDesign. We were given little direction apart from size and the information that needed to be included on the card. It was exciting to start working on the business card and see my image come to life.

I think that I responded pretty well. I think that for the most part I was able to create the image that I had in my head. I am still new to InDesign, so it was hard to get the image in my head on the screen, but with a little help from my professor and my friends I was able to get it done.

I was actually kind of surprised at what I actually did. It is not perfect, but it looks a lot better than I had been able to do in the past. I think with a little more help from my professor and friends that it will look very professional and meet all of the desires that I have for the card. I am definitely proud of the business card though. It makes me happy to see that I am starting to learn InDesign and that I am not as hopeless at it as I once thought.

Lastly, the reason why I think that I responded this way is because I am new to InDesign, so any work that I do that looks decent is a big deal to me. I realize it is unfair to have expectations that I will be a professional in one day, so for now I am happy that I can do the work that I am doing. It isn’t as good as I will do someday, but for now while I am learning the basics it is a great start. I think my reaction was like this
