Reflection: Canva

For this PR Publications assignment I was asked to make social media headers and posts using the website canva.com. It was supposed to be for one organization of our choosing.

I’ve used canva a few times before so my response to this assignment was neutral. I really enjoy the program and since finding out about it I use it a lot for any design materials I may need.

I’ve never made social media posts with it so It was interesting trying that out.

I like what I created because it’s for an organization I volunteer for on this campus so I really enjoyed what I made and hopefully it’ll be useful to them in the future.

Canva is extremely easy to use, which is a huge advantage for organizations that don’t have their own design team;however, canva cannot change pictures or create intricate designs like the adobe products, which gives it limitations on what can be done with it.

My design process changed in that it took me such less time to make everything I was asked for that I made a few extra pieces. Usually I’m crunched for time with these assignment so that was a nice change of pace.
