Reflection- Chapter 2

This week we were also asked to read Chapter 2 from our textbook and pick out an idea that we agreed with and an idea that we disagreed with.

Initially the first thing that I agreed with is the fact that certain designs can really manipulate different emotions from people. If one were to see a design that brought back a happy memory, it would help them develop more creativity in that direction. Whether if you see a design that is more dark, it can lead your emotions in a completely different way.

What I really didn’t necessarily agree with was the statement regarding that we are born with emotions, but we don’t exactly learn them. I do not think this statement is exactly accurate. I think that as we grow and develop as human beings, we learn things based on our experiences. We definitely are born with certain emotions from our backgrounds, but I think most of our emotions are learned through day-to-day life experience whether it be positive or negative.
