Reflection – Direct Mailer (1st Drafts)

This week we were required to create a first draft of our second direct mailer. I found that working on this draft was much easier because I got a lot of practice just from working on the first one. However, I still feel like I’m not as comfortable with Photoshop as I am InDesign and I know it’s just going to take some more practice to fully get the hang out Photoshop.

My first stakeholder are incoming freshmen and transfer students that have already been acceptable to the University of Oklahoma and my second stakeholder are the parents of those incoming freshman or transfer students. I think that these stakeholder are great targets because I first want to convince the student that going Greek is something that he/she should do. After I convince the student,  I have to convince the parents that joining the Greek community will be a positive thing for their student.

As I was working on my second direct mailer, I started noticing things that I could change from my first director mailer to make the second one more creative such as replacing the “ou” in “should” with the OU logo.

Here are my first drafts of both Direct Mailer #1 and Direct Mailer #2!

Direct Mailer #1 – Stakeholder: Incoming freshman or transfer student.

Direct Mailer #2 – Stakeholder: Parents of incoming freshman or transfer student.

I’m not sure what the back of each direct mailer will entail, but I will figure that out before my final draft is complete. I also need to work on the OU logo placement of Direct Mailer #2. These drafts are far from perfect but hopefully I will get there!
