Reflection Lesson 1.3
The world of Photoshop and InDesign felt foreign and overwhelming. Things seemed to have their own language and the layout wasn’t anything like what I had used before.
Even the amount of lessons an time spent exploring felt overwhelming, but I am glad to have emerged with at least the most basic understanding of how to use these tools.
We were asked to go step by step through tutorials in type, design, photo editing, etc. I actually really liked the Lynda exercises because it walked you through how to do everything. But I think I became a little too dependent on it, because one we got into class stop work on assignments, I found myself having to look up a lot of steps again.
I will say, though, that at the end of the unit I did feel gratified to have learned to navigate the programs that at first seemed so foreign. it’s cool because you often see promotional posters, edited photos, and graphic design and it seems so inaccessible. But now I can look at such things and have an idea of how they were made.
