Reflection: Newsletter

For the past couple of weeks in my PR Publications class, we were asked to work on a newsletter of a Fortune 500 Company of our choice. The company I chose was Coca-Cola.

I The first week of the assignment, we were asked to create a “dummy layout” of our newsletter, and the second week, we were asked to complete the dummy layout with real pictures and stories.

In response to this design project, I was excited! I love working with InDesign, and each design piece I create from this class gets added to a portfolio of my work, which is something that I take to interviews.

My reaction to the newsletter was great, I know I spent a LOT of time working on it, so I hope that shows within my work! In general, I thought the stories I chose would fit directly in the space I allotted for it, however this was not the case. Because the stories were so long, I had to change a few designs within the newsletter as well as delete paragraphs from the chosen story. Even after all of this, I still think my newsletter looks great!

I think I had this reaction because I worked really hard on this assignment! I wanted to create an easy-to-read newsletter with a lot of pictures for visuals, so people do not get bored when reading it. Overall, I enjoyed this assignment, and I always like to gain more experience through InDesign!
