Reflection – Newsletter
1. What were you asked to do?
For this last post, we were asked to modify the stories that were in our newsletter from last week, in addition to fixing the pictures in our newsletters.
2. How did you respond to what you were asked to do?
Luckily, for this assignment, my newsletter from last week had stories in it that fit the criteria for an internal newsletter. So for this assignment, I chose to just change the photos in my newsletter. Unfortunately, none of my stories came with actual pictures, so I had to improvise with free photos from some of the links Adam gave us.
3. How did react to what you actually did?
I was moderately satisfied with my newsletter. After taking this class, I understand how to use InDesign and Photoshop, yet I don’t really have the creative mind to use what I know to create something great. Every time I try to use the tools in Photoshop and InDesign, it seems like it never works out very well.
4. Now go one level deeper: Why do you think your reaction was what it was?
I think my reaction was like that because I’ve worked in several marketing internships now, and I’ve witnessed lots of designs being created. I guess I thought that I would take to designing very easily, but it did not, and for that reason I was not overjoyed with my design.
Supplemental questions:
- How did your target public affect your overall content and design strategy?
I think that my content will be good for targeting my internal public because they are good stories about positive things that are happening within the company itself. The design will be good for the internal public as well because it represents the brand colors effectively.
