Reflection on BOOTCAMP
Phew. Bootcamp was actual bootcamp! Being asked to watch a series of videos and follow along sounded easy, right? Eek, not so simple. Even though the videos were extremely step by step I still struggled. I didn’t get down on myself though cause this material is extremely new to me. Learning anything brand new can bring its challenges but this was a very different kind of challenge. Personally, I enjoyed learning InDesign more than Photoshop. My first thing I had to do with all the videos was slow down his voice because he would say something and it would take me a minute to process and I found myself pausing a lot. Sometimes I was like, “Should I take notes?” It was a lot of shortcuts and keys and you have to do this for this to work. But the videos were very helpful and I already know I will probably go back and watch them again for future projects.
I think I liked InDesign more because layout makes sense to me. Making boxes and wireframes with certain measurements, making tables, creating styles etc. makes sense to me so I enjoyed doing that. Photoshop still is a tad confusing I can’t seem to understand the layers yet but I will get there.
This week was overwhelming but I know these applications are imperative to know especially with want I want to do in the future.
