Reflection on Direct Mailers
For my public relations publications class, I was asked to create two direct mailers. The initial direct mailer was to be targeted at a specific audience and the second to be targeted at an audience that is influential on the first.
I chose to target my direct mailers at high school seniors whose parents are season ticket holders living in Oklahoma. Therefore, my second direct mailer was targeted at the season ticket holders in Oklahoma.
My design for the second direct mailer differed from the first because it was targeted at an audience that would need to influence others. The idea of the second direct mailer is to give the season ticket holder grounds to influence the child to apply to the University of Oklahoma. As far as the first direct mailer goes, I only changed positioning from the first draft.
There are many similarities but mostly differences between Photoshop and InDesign. The overall look and some of the buttons are similar. However, the overall concept is very different. I prefer InDesign because it is not necessary to switch between layers like it is on Photoshop.
Attached below are the direct mailers completed this week. The first is targeted at high school seniors and the second at season ticket holders.
