In PR Publications this semester, I’ll be designing a business card and letterhead for an organization. I was encouraged to choose an organization I am passionate about, so I picked the Center for Children and Families Incorporated (CCFI). I’ve volunteered with CCFI in the past and I wanted to choose a local nonprofit organization whose work impacts my community.

The mission of CCFI is “to improve the lives of children through partnerships with families and communities, because every boy and girl deserves to grow up safe, nurtured and loved.” The organization provides counseling, after-school programs, therapeutic healing and a range of other materials for families and children in need. Main competitors of the organization are United Way of Norman and Loveworks Leadership, which also provide a range of services related to community impact.  CCFI partners with the Norman public schools so that all children in the community can participate in after school programs. They go beyond meeting the needs of children by providing services for their families as well, donating items and providing counseling and parenting services for adults. Their three core values are healing children, empowering youth and strengthening families.
