Pi Beta Phi differs from its competitors due the organization’s core values, its partnership with First Book, its publications, the personalities and passions of its members, and its Pi Phi specific symbols.

Pi Beta Phi’s image and message should be focused around the organization’s six core values- integrity, lifelong commitment, honor and respect, personal and intellectual growth, philanthropic service to others, and sincere friendship. The image and message should include Pi Phi’s unique symbols, such as the arrow. These things are what make Pi Phi different from other sororities.
