Research- Scottish Rite Hospital
For lesson 2.1 of my PR Publications course, our assignment was to design a business card and a letterhead for an organization that we chose. I choice Scottish Rite Hospital, located in Dallas, Texas, because I spent four summers in high school volunteering there as a junior volunteer. My goal for this assignment is to discuss and highlight Scottish Rite’s current mission, values, and resources.
The mission statement of Scottish Rite Hospital states that the goal of the hospital is to help improve the lives of children by providing quality care for selected orthopedic and related neurodevelopmental and musculoskeletal conditions, as well as specific learning disorders. Furthermore, Scottish Rite strives to improve the care of kids through innovative research and teaching programs.
The main competitor for Scottish Rite in the Dallas, Texas area is the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas because both hospitals cater to the same age group for medical care. However, Scottish Rite is unique due to the fact that they treat very specific cases in the fields of orthopedic, neurodevelopmental, and musculoskeletal conditions along with specific learning disorders.
Scottish Rite Hospital has a specific set of core values that they practice when it comes to medical care for the children they are treating. These core values include child focused, accountability, respect, excellence, research, integrity, transforming, and education. Not only do they use these core values when treating patients, they also use these values when conversing with parents of patients, and when researching or educating other doctors.
